DAY SAILING TOUR

Awesome Bay of Islands Day Sailing Adventure on our 65 foot ocean going yacht GUNGHA II. Experience awesome sailing and the fantastic Bay of Islands all in one super day. Our sailing tour is exciting, funny and informal. We provide tasty morning snacks, heaps of sailing, a unique island stopover, masks & snorkels, hot outside showers and our yummy fresh sandwich lunch. Marine life including penguins, seabirds and others are often plentiful and frequently sighted in playful groups. Our friendly crew will help you sail the boat or you can simply relax and enjoy. We depart from Paihia daily at 10:00 am (Russell transfers included).Return around 4:00 pm. All activities and yummy fresh lunch included!

GUNGHA II is the largest and most widely travelled ocean sailing yacht in the Bay of Islands!Our crew have sailed and lived aboard throughout the Pacific and beyond.Our winter schedule often includes Tonga, Fiji and New Caledonia.If you are keen to talk about or learn something of the ocean voyaging life we have plenty of stories to tell.There is no better place to start or nourish those dreams than in the Bay of Islands!

  • Allow approximately 6 hours for the whole experience

  • Departure time & location: Boarding at 9:45 am at Paihia Wharf
  • Marsden Road Paihia (departing Paihia at 10 am …if staying in Russell transfers included).

  • Minimum numbers apply. Please confirm your booking 24 hours prior.

    All departures are subject to demand, sea and weather conditions.

    All trips are smoking and alcohol-free.

    Passengers will be required to sail barefoot.

    Please bring: sunscreen and your own towel!

    Please do not bring: chilly bins, diving or fishing gear. We will be sailing!

    We do not target or swim with dolphins. Our encounters occur naturally and are often brief. Marine Mammal Protection regulations are strictly observed.

Superbe expérience voilier !

J’ai passé une magnifique journée sur le voilier de Mike. Nous étions 12, largement la place pour tout le monde. Des snacks tout au long de la navigation préparés avec amour par Sam! Au programme stop sur une île déserte, snorkeling (matériel fourni gratuitement), baignade, marche. Partage d’expérience de la voile, mike nous a emmené voir des petit manchots. Bref parfait si vous cherchez une croisière à taille humaine ! J’y retournerais bien demain ?

Super journée à bord du Gungha II !

J'ai beaucoup aimé cette journée de navigation. Mike et Sam sont aux petits soins avec l'équipage : de belles anecdotes, de la nourriture fraîche, une halte sur une île avec possibilité de balade et snorkeling et en prime, nous avons eu la chance de naviguer à côté des dauphins ! Je recommande cette sortie à 100% !

Super journée ! Mike est très accueillant il a un français très correct ce qui est très pratique pour ceux qui ont du mal avec l'anglais. Sinon bateau très spacieux j'ai eu la chance de hisser la grand voile et de manœuvrer le bateau tout ça en suivant les indications de Mike, parfait pour apprendre 2-3 choses utiles si vous le souhaitez. Nous avons eu le droit à une petite collation avant de quitter le bateau. Bien évidemment tout était super beau comme c'est le cas partout dans ce pays les côtes étaient magnifiques, l'île sur laquelle nous nous sommes arrêté aussi avec une vue superbe. Ensuite Mike nous a préparé un déjeuner simple et très bon un bon sandwich fait maison avec une orange des biscuits et des rafraîchissements. C'était l'anniversaire d'une personne à bord ce jour là Mike à acheté un gâteau pour cette occasion, gentille attention de sa part ce qui vous permet de vous faire une idée sur le personnage. Je recommande vivement vous allez adorer.

Nous avons passé une excellente journée. Tout correspond bien à la description. L arrêt sur une plage déserte permet de prendre de l altitude pour admirer un merveilleux paysage et de se baigner. Les petits snacks et le sandwich du lunch sont parfaits.
